lightbox tests 1
Spool Flashback, from Mom's sewing basket

Woot! I built my own lightbox - thank you, Dallas, for the inspiration! It works fine with my fancy pants flash, which is a good thing, because I'm sure my local hardware store doesn't carry fancy pants lights.

I'm sure this would be an excellent solution to anyone's craft photography winter woes, from the short sunlight hours to the constant grayness to my own issue of high-elevation glare. It's nice not to have to depend on so many extraneous factors just to be able to shoot a nice picture of something you've sewn/knit/cooked/made.

I know what I'll be giddily fiddling around with when I get home from school tomorrow ...

xo,
Meg

No problem. You photo looks great. I love your background color. I've been thinking about trying that by using different color fabric as the background.

Great idea! - solves everyone's problems. If only I could fit my son in a lightbox... :)

I'm so jealous of people who actually understand photography. I just have a point and shoot and can't justify buying a new camera that I wouldn't be able to work. I just use the bath as my lightbox, how sad is that?
I love your piccies Meg!

Thanks for the great link!!! I was just totally frustrated about all my photos being terrible because of lighting (and well, my terrible camera) but I may try to put this together to see if it helps! Your photo is awesome!

The tutorial is awesome! Just what I needed.

What did you use for your background color? Is it fabric? The colors are stunning!

Fabulous tutorial for something I never knew I needed until now! I don't think I have to go buy anything for it--even BETTER. :)

Superb! I think I'll have to make one, as I hate having until the weekend to take pictures of my knitting - in order to catch some daylight!
