the pattern shop is now OPEN!

Check out my little pattern shop at! I do hope you'll like what you see there. Each pattern (the reading pillow, mei tai baby carrier, and the Montessori child's apron) is available for individual purchase as a PDF file that you can download and print off. Also, if you are so inclined, you can purchase all three patterns at a discount.

I'll be setting up a flickr group for those of you who make things using the Montessori By Hand patterns. I'm looking forward to seeing your creations!

Happy sewing, and a heartfelt thank you for your support!

I just downloaded mine! Really, Meg, the site is gorgeous and so easy to use. Everything was totally fast and worked perfectly. Obviously I haven't had time to try to follow any of the patterns yet, but they look FANTASTIC!!! I love that they are pattern and photo tutorial combined--they look so easy to follow and are so appealing. You and your husband have done some amazing work--congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!

Congratulations Meg, the site looks great. I am holding off buying the pillow pattern until we have got the move out of the way, I know what I am like. If I get it now I will just HAVE to make one and I really don't have the time at the moment.
I made my son (just 2) an apron similar to yours (could have done with the apttern last week!) and he can put it on and take it off by himself, having the elasticated neck strap makes a massive difference.
Hope the sales go well.

Lovely! I will have to check out that reading pillow pattern for my Mom-in-law! She loves reading and I think that pillow will be a near future project of mine! We're all about handmade gifts, especially for the holidays coming up, so this will be perfect! And the site looks really fabulous too! Great work you've done!

I may have already left this message, but I didn't see it posted yet. I downloaded my reading pillow pattern last night. I am excited to try it out. I forwarded a link to your website to another sewing blogger at She really liked your patterns and is going to include a link to your site in her blog. A lot of people read her blog so hopefully that will help get the word out for you. Take care.

Hi, can you tell me where I can download the reading book pattern from? I cannot find it through this link.
