i'm loving ...
... my new p.j. pants, made from Amy Butler's book In Stitches. I shortened the pants substantially and added the band of owl print to complete the "bedtime" theme.
... this incredibly beautiful linen quilt that I bought from Amanda's Etsy shop. Visions of picnics, stargazing, cuddling and dozing dance in my head!
... live music in the classroom
A local Tarahumara (indigenous) man came to give my students a short violin concert. The Tarahumara make their own violins and play them in a fiddle-like manner.
The children watched intently. Later on in the day, look who I caught trying to play the violin! Adorable.

Those pants are wicked cute! I've got to start making some for my daughter. No polyester jammies are allowed in this house!
Cute pants! Totally cute!
Oh, I love the violin photos! My 3 year old and 5 year old play! (well they are learning) So cute! Love your photos!
Music in the classroom: absolutely wonderful!!!
you are one lucky lady! that quilt is simply amazing.
Oooo, so you're the one that snapped up the quilt. I was contemplating buying it yesterday, but couldn't really justify the expense. (Not that it isn't worth the price- it is.)
So glad you got it! I was secretly hoping that someone would buy it so that I could stop contemplating the purchase.
Oh yah, those pants are awesome! My daughter would love some like that, if I ever get my sewing machine into the shop.
My daughter just started violin this year and loves it!! I can't say enough about exposing children to music! We actually just picked up a trumpet for my son this afternoon.
I love those pants! I knew right away that they were amy butler. I just ordered a ton of fabric to make one of her quilts...yikes. I have to finish the reading pillow first!!!
Where can I buy a violin like that? It is so awesome!
So you got the linen quilt! Congratulations, you were faster, it's SO beautiful...
What beautiful pants! And lucky you - that is one gorgeous quilt you bought!
Oh, I want you to be my boys teacher! What a wonderful concert! Love the pants, and love, love that you got amanda's gorgrous quilt.
No Way!!! I have been obsessing about that quilt!!! I wanted it sooooo badly. I went to check once more and *poof* it was GONE! Now tonight, I am fooling around, checking out some blogs and I find yours...which I love by the way...and you are the lucky buyer!!! I am planning to make a similar one with linen and a vintage sheet. Love it! I also love your school. Looks like a special place. Hope to see the quilt in a post or two...
:o)
Darling pants and what absolutely darling children! They are lucky to have you for a teacher!
