A puppet made at home, from an old sock. Love the holes for her fingers.
Singing while doing the movements with the "Song Cards" work. Also, notice that one of my children has made me a cup of tea in the background.
Drawing on a window in the outdoor environment.

I don't know how he does this. I can barely do it.

Thanks for sharing the photos of your "babies." I teach elementary art in public school, which is a pretty good thing, but I aspire to teach Montessori. You are so lucky.
ReplyDeletesuas fotos são linds, parabéns como sempre
ReplyDeleteI always love to see pictures of your school. Montessori schools were a dream of mine and I tried to impliment what I could of them in my home with my own children.
ReplyDeletebeautiful shots
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos! Just beautiful! I especially like the one of the young man looking at the map he's completed. I shared your blog address with the staff at our last school meeting and any other Montessori teachers I see...you are such an inspiration, especially to those of us just getting handy with a sewing machine......as one Montessorian to another, please keep doing what you are doing!!
ReplyDeleteas a home school mama I really love to see how you have set up the children's space. Thanks so much for sharing!
ReplyDeleteYour photos of the children in your school are always inspiring. As a public school teacher, it's easy for me to forget the reason I'm there in the hustle and bustle of our days. Thank you so much for chronicling your experiences in a lovely place with those beautiful faces that you see every day.
ReplyDeleteso lovely - the pictures and the children. may i please know where you got the africa puzzle?
ReplyDeleteHOLA MEG....TODOS TUS NIÑOS SON ADORABLES...ES MÁGICO VERLOS TRABAJANDO...MUCHOS BESITOS Y CARIÑOS....GINE Y GILDI
ReplyDeleteOkay, that sock puppet is just priceless.
ReplyDeleteI really love the photos from your classroom. You are so lucky to have such a wonderfully fulfilling job.
ReplyDeleteThese photos are wonderful. They capture the joy of learning. I also love to see what's in your classroom. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteBrings back good memories... my "babies" are in the last years of elementary school already...and still using their Montessori knowledge!!!
ReplyDeleteSorry, totally off topic, but I got my Emmeline pattern in the mail today!!! I can't wait to start working on it! Hopefully, this week.
ReplyDeleteYour blog is so enjoyable. I found it via your apron. So very cute!
ReplyDeleteI'm wondering about the children in aprons. They are very adorable. You mentioned in a post that Montessori learners/teachers love their aprons. Would you share why that is? Is there something more about it than just keeping their clothing clean?
I would love having a source for the Africa puzzle too. My son loves puzzles and has been asking about Africa a lot lately. That would be perfect!
ReplyDeleteElizabeth and Amy - the puzzles are from a Montessori supplier, Nienhuis
ReplyDeleteAmy A. - Wearing an apron for a special activity makes the child feel like the "work" he/she is about to do is important! Also, having an apron that they can get in/out of themselves is so much fun, as they are fascinated with "dressing" themselves at this age. It's also just plain fun, and I think they like aprons for the same reason we do - isn't cooking more fun in a cute apron? :)
Thanks to all for your uplifting comments!

Hello, Meg. My name is Rita, I am living in Dubai and this new country led me to an assistant teacher role in a Montessori classroom. That's why I found your blog, I was looking for something in Montessori that would show me its essence, and I have been reading it ever since. Thank you for the inspiration that you have given me. Rita.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for the reply on the puzzle! :> Sadly, it's a bit out of my range. Thanks again.
